A few tips

Dhanteras opens the five days of Diwali, and it's traditionally the day for buying gold, silver or a new utensil for the home. It's also a day for wishing good health, since it honours Lord Dhanvantari as well as Lakshmi ji.

If you're buying something small for her today, a silver coin or a pair of earrings fits the tradition. Send the card in the morning and let the gift follow in the evening.
